Altered Re:Union is a community-led nonprofit association registered under French loi 1901 with the goal of preserving and growing the future of Altered TCG, which officially ended in early 2026 with its initial publisher, Equinox.
As a nonprofit, we have an established management team and board, as well as rules and bylaws about the work we do. This allows us to enter into legal agreements and act in specific ways to preserve the game. Our structure and goals as an organization are based on the model of Null Signal Games, which preserved and developed the Netrunner TCG community after its official closure. You can read how our initial vision for Re:Union grew out of their example here.
Our mission is to preserve the future of Altered’s gameplay by making it accessible and open to as many players as possible. We’ve established a number of milestones to measure our success, such as maintaining organized play, developing online gameplay options and creating our own ongoing sets.
As a nonprofit, all income is reinvested into the operations and development of future sets. We're a fully volunteer-staffed team made up of fans with a range of skills. We've officially partnered with Equinox to continue Altered's adventure, maintaining its presence on BGA and developing the community. We welcome people who want to be a part of this journey, whether just by showing support or offering help as they're able.
Our Board of Directors lead Re:Union in overall decision-making, setting milestones and coordinating management on projects. Anyone on the Management Team is eligible to be a part of the Board of Directors, and those on the Board continue with their Management roles.
Our current Board includes:
- President - Léo Colmet Daâge - @aran_fr
- Vice president - Craigery Dennis - @magnus770
- David Alejandro Cruz - @chillzryde
- Jules Duroux - @jules5053
- Kyle Brown - @kbyanyname
- Mason Ulves - @thereallyrealmasonjar
- Yannick Trolliet - @yannicktrolliet
The Board of Directors are also people who are members of the Association loi 1901’s highest committee. They are legally responsible for the association, and were elected through a process defined by the Association’s rules.
The Management Team is made up of the team leads and co-leads, representing the various teams supporting Re:Union’s projects. Team leads and co-leads are elected by their teams and work with volunteers to reach our goals together. They’re linked closely to the Board of Directors in order to keep a common direction for the whole project.
The Governance Team is made up of volunteers, some of whom are part of the Management Team. Members of the Board of Directors may not be on the Governance Team, who are are responsible for writing bylaws and procedures the Board and other Teams will then apply. Their work involves determining the ways the nonprofit will operate transparently and effectively to build and support the community.
The Communication Team creates, edits and publishes official news and updates, as well as other community outreach materials. They’ve already covered milestones like connecting the community with ongoing news, project and tournament announcements and Re:Union’s social media. Their work includes projects such as announcements, reports and website and social media posts.
The Development Team builds the tools and features used on the Re:Union website and Board Game Arena, as well as other deliverables. We have them to thank for reaching milestones such as bringing Roots of Corruption to Board Game Arena and launching the community-designed Frontier format. Their work includes projects such as coding, bug testing and feature rollout.
The Localization Team translates materials like game materials, rules and communication posts across languages, making the game and lore more accessible to players. Their milestones focus on making sure Re:Union’s projects are accessible in a range of languages. Their work includes projects such as checking card names and text, translating news briefs and lore and updating documents across languages.
The Lore Team handles the ongoing story of the Expeditionary Corps picking up from where Equinox left off. They’re working on milestones such as creating lore for Roots of Corruption cards and continuing the story for the next sets. Their work includes projects such as writing articles, creating flavor text and blending the story with the game mechanics and art. They are in close contact with Yoshiaki Mimura, who created the whole story of Altered.
The Operations Team oversees the work of connecting Re:Union with the players and professional partners. Their milestones are connected to plans around future sets and related projects. Their work includes projects such as reaching out to professionals to execute larger Re:Union goals, connecting with team volunteers and creating plans to complete a finished product.
The Organization Team maintains the workflow and resources of the teams and supports community spaces. They’re covering milestones related to connecting players, such as the official Discord, and building outreach for new volunteers. Their work includes managing documents and processes, bringing in and onboarding volunteers and working with feedback to make new channels.
The Organized Play Team oversees the competitive scene of Altered TCG through Re:Union. We have them to thank for hitting the milestones of bringing ongoing new seasons of competitive play with Roots of Corruption, as well as the upcoming Worlds event. Their work includes organizing tournaments, preparing prizes and rewards for participants and winners and creating a whole competitive circuit leading to a World Championship event.
The Visual Art Team creates new arts to share with the community, both as special rewards and as new game material not existing yet. Their milestones are built around maintaining the look of the game on BGA as well as development of future sets. If you’ve played a match on Board Game Arena recently, you’ve already seen their work in the Roots of Corruption layout and first player token. Their work includes illustrating new cards, updating graphics and game material and creating banners and other illustrations meant for communication.
The Wiki Team is in charge of creating, editing and keeping the Wiki up to date. They’ve already made progress on their milestones around cataloguing the wider world of the game in the Wiki. Their work includes organizing pages and their global architecture, collecting information from different sources to the wiki and researching anecdotes around Altered TCG’s creators, artists and characters designs.
They are not part of the Management Team but their work is of high importance: They make the Discord a safe place for every Altered enthusiast.
New teams will be created soon for aspects such as:
- Game Design
- Balancing
- Comprehensive Rules
