Get ready to continue your Altered adventure on Board Game Arena
The Altered Re:Union project will officially take over management of the game on Board Game Arena when altered.gg’s services shut down. Online play will continue, but we’ve got a few updates including our new website!
This week’s BGA update
Equinox’s services will shut down June 15, but we’ve been working closely with BGA and are ready to transition to the community ecosystem May 20! Please be patient with these changes, as there may be a few bugs as would be expected with any major platform change. We will make updates and fixes quickly as we go.
You’ll be able to link your Re:Union account to BGA and continue playing your decks through any deckbuilder connected to the community platforms. We’ve also prepared a new interface for selecting both custom and starter decks, and we hope you’ll enjoy it.
For right now, the AlteredCore deck extraction tool and the batch extraction tool (for Firefox, for Chrome) are working, but we’re working on additional routes to export your decks and should have news soon. You can import your decks into one of the community deckbuilder platforms to use on BGA. There might be a few bugs in the processes, so please let us know if you run into trouble! If you’d rather, you can also just create new decks on the platforms.
We’ve got four formats to start off with, three using familiar play guidelines and one brand-new Sandbox mode to encourage exploration for new ways to play.
Our Organized Play Team already has some competitive opportunities ready for players beginning this week, including Monday Night Top Cut, Road to Valhalla, Rapid-Fire NUC and Singleton tournaments. New look, new features
The Re:Union website has gotten a major update today, launching with several new features to explore. Feel free to take a look around, as you set up your own personal account which you can link to your BGA profile to share custom decklists. You can check out the News page for the latest updates on what we’re working on next, or page through the Card collection to see each card’s details and incorporate them into your decks. We’ll be sharing details on how best to use these features in the future, but for now, take a look around! Let us know if you run into bugs, and we’ll work to improve the experience.
We’re doing everything we can to make the transition to the new future of online play for Altered as easy as possible for the community, and we’ll share more of our plans for the platform soon. Please be patient with us in the meantime! Altered Re:Union is a fully volunteer team, and it’s been a huge effort to get us to this point.
