Altered Re:Union officially incorporates as a nonprofit
Altered Re:Union incorporated as a nonprofit association under French loi 1901 as a major step toward supporting the game going forward as Equinox winds down operations. Building a nonprofit association allows the team to act as a recognized legal entity and enter into agreements, as well as hold and manage assets. As Equinox winds down its services May 20, Altered Re:Union will be working with Board Game Arena to keep online play available with full access to all commons and rares for all players.
Incorporation marks the start of a transition period of about three months to develop the full governance structure, moving toward a formal vote to approve a model and elect a full-term Board of Directors with the input of community members. The plan follows the path set by the Netrunner fan community, which successfully supported the game through a nonprofit association after its official close.
For the initial transition period, the Board Member roles will be filled by current Management Team members as follows:
- President: Vincent Eli, WhySoS3rious (@_voodoochile)
- Vice President: Léo Colmet Daâge, Aran (@aran_fr)
- Secretary: Yannick Trolliet, Volo (@yannicktrolliet)
- Treasurer: Craigery Dennis, Magnus (@magnus770)
- Governance Committee Representative: Mason Ulves, TheRealMasonJar (@thereallyrealmasonjar)
- Management Team Representative: Jules Duroux, Sparky (@jules5053)
The Management Team are a group of people already endorsed by community votes and coordinating initiatives for the association.
Over the next three months, the Governance Team will be working to develop the full framework for the nonprofit organization, including the bylaws, voting procedures, organizational structure and membership policies. Volunteers may also become members of the Governance Team.
The current Governance Committee includes the follow members:
- David Alejandro Cruz, Chile (@chillzryde)
- Andrea Rigaudière, Erleyah (@erleyah)
- Thibaud Vignal, BamBamBam (@.skeletonjoke)
Once the corporation bylaws are created over the initial three-month period, a formal election for positions will be held, subject to nomination and vote by the full membership. After that period, the association will move into the next stages to support and develop the game.
Altered Re:Union is a nonprofit association keeping the Altered TCG adventure ongoing through community, development and creativity. Players interested in reconnecting or volunteering should visit the association page or join the Discord.
