Rouen Breakdown
The final Equinox run tournament happened this last weekend in wonderful Rouen in northern France. It was a fabulous farewell to Equinox’s project with a full artist gallery for signings, a well attended costume contest and of course the final face to face competitive event of Equinox’s stewardship of the Altered TCG. There were lots of side events and prizes alongside the main tournament. Additionaly there were updated boss decks that included some set 7 cards including some of the heroes! Let’s get into everything!
The Costume Contest
There was a plethora of fantastic costumes of folk all coming dressed as their favourite characters. Indeed I counted over thirty entrants to the competition, which was great to see. We were treated to two Auraqs, Arjun & Spike, Nadir & Bubbles, Phileas Fogg, Matz & Hive, a Sneezer Shroom, Saskia, Flore, two Ordis Troopers, a Bumblebeet, The Grems, Crowbar and a gifting Woollyback. I apologise if I missed anyone out but there were so many fab costumes.

The winner of the competition was the fantastic Alexis whose Mojo costume was really detailed (shown below). Second was an really great Ordis Trooper costume and third was a great Dr Frankenstein costume. I think we can all see the hard work that everyone put into the contest, but Alexis was a deserved winner.

Alas, I could not go in person. My Gretel cosplay that I’d been working on for three months thus had to be sent via video to wish that everyone had a great time there.

The Altered Re:Union Presentation
Aran made a presentation on the Altered Re:Union project on stream with Sigismundd (which you can find here at the time stampt 5:44 – https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2756564882). It is in French so you may need google translate if you are not a Francophone, but its a really good listen. Plus you get to see all the action on the top table in the rest of the broadcast. Aran outlined the community’s plans going forward for the project, and stay tuned here as we’ll be revealing more over the coming months. If you look very carefully below you can see the VRAC trophy guarded by the really stern Woollyback sentry below in the foreground.

The Tournament
The tournament found xx players battling it out to be the Champion at Rouen and lift the trophy. The field was varied with the lots of different decks with a veriety of heroes hoping to take down the trophy at the end.
In the end the super competitive tournament saw the following top eight matchups.
Roms (Kojo & Booda) vs Tibouchou (Afanas & Senka)
Luigi Poliakoff (Treyst) vs Zerosuitsamus
Flolcsc vs Insane (Treyst)
Gorflu (Teija & Naaru) vs Elfor
The semi finals saw Tibouchou lose to Luigi Poliakoff and Goflu lose to Insane.
In the end the two Treyst decks reach the final which gave us a Treyst mirror match. The match was first to three wins, but they ran out of time and they were tied on two games apiece, meaning that we had joint winners in Insane and Luigi Poliakoff. Congratulations to both of the winners, though I wonder how they split that trophy.
Though this was the last official Equinox event, it is the Altered Re:Union team’s hope that there will be many more such events to come in the future!
