Look ahead for the Roots of Corruption Organized Play season

The Roots of Corruption Organized Play season is here, with new opportunities to win prizes and show your skill in competitive tournaments. Join us in helping push back the darkness while exploring the new set on Board Game Arena while earning your way to the next Altered Worlds event.

These tournaments will also continue to build on the new pool of uniques in Frontier play, opening up new strategies. It’s been almost two weeks since the release of the Roots of Corruption set on BGA, making it the perfect time to announce the first RoC Qualifier Tournament, coming Sept. 20. 

Save the date and start preparing your best decks! This will be your chance to compete for a spot at the top and show what you can do with the new set and new Frontier pool.

Check out this overview of the next few months of competitive play:

RoC Block 1 (Aug. 17-Sept. 27):

  • Aug. 14-26 - Prerelease events

  • Aug. 17 - RoC set release/OP Block 1 begins

  • Sept. 20 - Block 1 Open Invite Season Finale Qualifier - Frontier format

  • Sept. 27 - RoC Pre-con Deck Tournament - NUC format

  • Sept. 27 - OP Block 1 end date

 

RoC Block 2 (Sept. 28-Nov. 8):

  • Sept. 28 - OP Block 2 starts, new Frontier pool

  • Oct. 4 - Block 2 Sealed event

  • Oct. 25 - Block 2 Open Invite Season Finale Qualifier - Frontier format

  • Nov. 8 - OP Block 2 end date

For each of these upcoming tournaments, some details will be the same with the final rules coming closer to each event:

Block Open Invite Season Finale Qualifiers

  • Format: Frontier

  • Open invitation

  • Prize support: 1 seat at Worlds for top player; Top 8 to be invited to a special RoC Season Finale with the Top 8 of each Block (where at least one additional Worlds seat will be available).

Pre-con Tournaments

  • Format: NUC

  • Open invitation

  • Prize support to be provided

  • Each deck will be updated to include RoC decks before tournament goes live

Sealed Event Block Launch Tournaments

  • Format: Sealed

  • Open invitation

  • Prize support to be provided

  • Scheduled for first week of Block release onward.

The next Frontier pool

More details about the rest of the competitive calendar are coming soon, but we can share that the third Frontier pool will be released Sept. 27. That means the current pool will remain in place through the September Qualifier, giving players a few more weeks to build and refine decks before the next chapter begins.
